"Without a doubt, the centerpiece in our MIS interactive classroom is the
Videodidact® system."
Without a doubt, the centerpiece of this technology is the Videodidact System in our MIS interactive classrooms.. The system allows the instructor to easily control any or all of the students' computers, project any computer's image onto all of the others, interact directly with individual students from one control center, and much more...We knew the importance of such classrooms in planning for our new building complex. We also knew the pitfalls of using a software system to provide the interactivity, since that is what we used in the original facility. ..We could not be happier with Videodidact. The installation was handled by EBS Inc. and it went flawlessly. The EBS folks were here when they said they would be, did their job quickly and most professionally. EBS has provided excellent support and we have had no problems with the system in spite of the fact that it is in constant use five days a week. The system is a pleasure to use, and everyone who teaches in these rooms loves what it adds to their teaching effectiveness.. Best of all, the system allows them to integrate complex computer instruction into their classes without having to think about how to make the system do what they need. With the Videodidact system, you get the most powerful and flexible switching system available along with the most intuitive interface one could imagine. We are proud to have Videodidact, and we are proud to tell others about it."

"As Network Administrator for this building, I get nothing but praise from
everyone.."
With our new Videodidact system installed in two, soon to be three, of our training classrooms, the comments are coming in. From the instructors, we hear that it is very easy to use, very effective, saving much time and many steps to student workstations. From the students, WOW!....their screens being displayed to the entire class with a touch of a button, makes for an extremely effective teaching tool, not to mention all of the other great features of Videodidact. We also have our VCR interfaced with the Videodidact system, which is awesome! As Network Administrator for this building, I get nothing but praise from everyone in regards to our new computer training rooms and the Videodidact system is the icing on the cake. Everyone feels that when they walk into these rooms, they are truly state of the art! I feel compelled to mention, too, that we have received excellent service from the Videodidact team, from the initial demonstration of the product to the installation. They are always within reach and available to offer their ongoing support. Thanks! to Videodidact....a true professional!

"You'll be getting a lot more business from us in the future".
I can't begin to tell you how impressed we've been with you and your product. Eight hours after you wrapped up your install our first group of students were giving the system rave reviews and personally seeking us out after the class to tell us how much they liked it.

"The features of the Videodidact make it an extremely powerful tool in a
computer lab.."
I truly mean it when I say I think this product is revolutionary for computer classroom management. The features of the Videodidact make it an extremely effective tool in a computer lab that takes instruction to a higher qualitative level. Students appear to retain more material and are much more actively involved in the learning process. After using this system for 6-months, I can truthfully say it has revolutionized my teaching and assisted me tremendously in classroom instruction in the computer lab. ... I am a cheerleader for this product. Without a doubt, it has positively changed the way I teach and the way my students learn. ... The students also love the product. They have learned how to refer to book page numbers and screen files. They feel free to ask for help (someone even called it the "teacher's nurses" station). It has brought a controlled degree of discipline to all activities including e-mail, on-line access and team projects.

"I almost had a fight between two trainers as to who would get to use the
"good lab" with the Videodidact"
I can't begin to tell you how please our instructors are with the Videodidact system, despite some initial reluctance to "change". They love the ease of use and have come to depend on it greatly. In fact, several are very unhappy with me at the moment because they have had to "go back" to use the projector and screen since I sent the keypad back to you for revision and addition of the "help buttons". I almost had a fight between two trainers as to who would get to use the "good lab", i.e., the lab with the Videodidact system. All who saw the system in action were highly impressed with the functionality and ease of use. Again, thank you for both the product you distribute and the quick, reliable, and courteous customer support you give. It is a pleasure to do business with you and your "gang", and we are looking forward to many more collaborations in the future.

"The benefit of the Videodidact may have saved a life."
Mt. Juliet High School uses the Videodidact system routinely to scan the computer lab, particularly when students are using e-mail and the Internet. This is in an effort to enforce our "Computer Use Policy". One day while using Videodidact to do a routine scan at the beginning of class, a student was observed writing an e-mail that after closer observation alerted the teacher to read it more closely. The student was writing a friend about how life was not worth living and he wanted to end it. Immediately, the student's grade counselor was notified and the student was brought into guidance where further intervention could take place. While it is not a regular practice to read students' e-mail as they are writing it, students do know teachers are able to do this and understand because they are students in a learning-centered environment, our school has the authority to monitor all work done on our network. This particular situation was one case where the benefit of the Videodidact may have saved a life.

"Yes, Videodidact has been a very worthwhile investment."
Our instructors save a lot of time by using it. It helps classes go smoother and the students really benefit by being able to get more help from the instructor. My instructors tell me that when they teach at other schools without this they feel handicapped. The one on one help that you are able to give students by using Videodidact is great. We may be adding it to other rooms soon.

"We wholeheartedly recommend this system to other educational institutions."
We have several installations of the Videodidact Systems. We are very pleased with all aspects of the product, including the hardware design and performance, the speed of installation and the level of service provided by the vendor. Teaching in a lab that is equipped with the Videodidact is much improved in terms of the instructor's ability to manage in-class activities.

"My last 2 years with Videodidact have been far more productive then in
any other classroom environment I've taught in."
Using the system, I can cover more material in a class session than I could without it. There isn't idle time while I'm answering other students' questions. That helps cut down on email and web surfing. I can turn a problem into a lesson for the class, instead of just `dead air' for everyone else. I can use the system to monitor students to see if anyone's having trouble, without waling around and singling them out before the class. There are several options I can take advantage of to help a student figure out the solution on their own. If they're really stuck, I can use the remote control function to take over their keyboard and mouse, and remedy the issue from my desk. Each student has a `HELP' key on their keyboard, which allows them to signal the instructor for assistance through the video net, without raising their hand. This helps eliminate the common fear of asking questions in front of the class. Removing that embarrassment helps make sure that more questions are asked and answered. What the system means to instructors is complex computer instruction for large groups, without having to think about how to get the system to do what you need it to do. I found it effortless to learn and it makes my teaching more effective. With more than 16 years of experience teaching in computer classrooms, my last 2 years with Videodidact have been far more productive then in any other classroom environment I've taught in.

"We still incorporate our projection device, but our students really
prefer to watch their computer screen as whole group lessons are
taught."
It is wonderful! When we first saw this system at an educational technology conference, we visualized all the ways that we could utilize in our computer classroom. Most of our students and trainees tell us that they are able to better follow what we are doing using the `All' function on the Videodidact system. The Videodidact system was easy to learn and the "Quick Tip Sheet" that comes with the system is very handy for the seldom-used functions. Our students love the "help" button that is located by their computer. When they push this button it projects the teacher's screen to their screen so that they can check their work. The button also alerts our instructors that a student needs help without disrupting the entire class or calling attention to the student, an important factor when teaching adults. We have really come to rely on this wonderful instructional tool, and we are very appreciative of the opportunity have it in our lab.

"One of our biggest challenges is maintaining flexibility"
We have been extremely satisfied with Videodidact in our computer classrooms in the Science Center at Smith College. In one classroom, we have Windows PC's and Silicon Graphics workstations connected to the same projection system. In another, we dual-boot Linux and Windows PC's. If we were to add Macintosh computers to the mix, Videodidact would continue to work in exactly the same way. Professors use the same keyboard to display student work, no matter what type of computer or operating system we might add to the classrooms. That's the kind of flexibility we need, and only Videodidact has been able to deliver it.

"Never did I dream that such a difference in atmosphere, attention,
time-on-task, and efficiency be made with the simple addition of the
Videodidact system."
Prior to the installation of the Videodidact system, the instructor had to get up and stroll around the room to see what the students were doing and "where they were" in the lesson. We primarily have public school teachers as students in our lab, and they are notoriously short on attentiveness. We also have a great degree of disparity between those who are somewhat technically "savvy" and those that are not. Having such a simple mechanical system that is not dependant upon software, operating systems, or other internal hardware, etc., makes this "bulletproof" operation! There hasn't been one single problem with the system since installation. The Videodidact system, with its extremely simple operation, has allowed me to optimize my class time by being able to control all the workstations at one time and at will. Being able to show any workstation to any other person or group of people is one of the most invaluable reinforcement tools in the class. Taking remote control of any workstation allows me to give individual instruction to a student, either privately or allowing other students to see what is happening. And, one of the best points, the students never know when the instructor is monitoring what they are doing. One of the best improvements in our classes has been the way the teachers and other staff members come to the workshops ready to get things done! I just want to take this opportunity to tell you, "Thanks ever so much!" for the Videodidact system here at Arkansas River ESC.
